Wij staan bekend om onze veganistische afternoon tea!
Originally the Afternoon Tea was introduced in Britain in the early 1840s. It is said that, around that time, it was Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford who complained about feeling somewhat hungry during the late afternoon. It was custom those days to eat only two meals – breakfast and dinner. The Duchess came up with a solution to satisfy her hunger. She called for a pot of tea and a light snack, taken privately in her boudoir during the afternoon. This quickly became the bridge between meals for the upper class and a whole social event on its own evolving to what we now know as the Afternoon Tea, sometimes mistakenly called High Tea.
The High Tea was a savoury meal paired with tea enjoyed in the evening by the working class served at a high table (hence High Tea).

Nowadays, an afternoon tea is the perfect way to treat a loved one on a special occasion, or a great opportunity for some quality time with a friend. Having afternoon tea is making an event out of your meal, savouring as many different flavours as possible. Each tray on our tea tower holds a different category of treats, taking you through a journey from savoury to sweet and covering the majority of our menu. With each high tea comes a pot of tea per person, giving you the chance to try some of our delicious loose leaf teas from Mr. Jones and Crusio.
